Kalithea

Perched on the northern coast of Trinidad in Blanchisseuse, Kalithea is a 2,500 square foot beach house designed to celebrate its surroundings. The two-storey home features an open kitchen and dining area that flows into the living space, all anchored by bi-folding louvred doors that open fully onto a generous covered porch - framing uninterrupted 180-degree views of the sea and inviting natural breeze throughout the home.

The primary en suite bedroom and powder room are located on the upper level, while the lower level houses three additional bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a second expansive covered porch. Every element of the layout encourages indoor-outdoor living, with natural ventilation and sunlight at its core.

The design is a fusion of Caribbean ease and Greek-inspired simplicity with whitewashed exteriors, wooden accents, and soft blue touches echoing the Mediterranean. Operable louvred windows and passive cooling strategies complement the home’s off-grid, solar-powered energy system, allowing nature to shape both the experience and the rhythm of the home.
